Herberts (D) - Producer of automobile paint

At Herberts, expensive circulation systems became obsolete when they changed to explosion proof hand pallet truck scales to mix the paint, moving the scale from one component to the other. Thus they work faster, are more flexible in their production planning, and they have lowered their maintenance and investment costs.

Tibbett & Britten supplies 19 Metro wholesale stores with food products, from its DC in Bucharest. The proper amount of fruit and vegetables is taken from full pallets on the Jungheinrich electric pallet trucks with scale to compile the orders. Scheren Logistik (D) - 3PL Logistic service provider

In order to minimize errors during order picking, 3PL provider Scheren equipped their STILL order-picking trucks with integrated scales. The warehouse management system interrogates the scale for the net weight increase after each order line picked, and compares this actual net weight with the theoretical weight of the articles in the order line. Royal Mail (UK) – Postal service

At the distribution centers of the British postal service mail bags are transported in roll containers that are stacked for temporary storage. Safe procedures say that the roll containers cannot be loaded with more than 3,300 lbs. For weighing the thousands of containers, Royal Mail equipped its 500 Hyster forklift trucks with a hydraulic load indication system. Royal Mail (pdf).

PaKo (D) - 3PL Logistic service provider

Logistic service provider PaKo does the order picking and distribution for 171 Mäc-Geiz shops in Germany. The problem was that there were too many complaints from the shops about goods not delivered. PaKo was looking for a simple and profitable way to check the outgoing shipments. The solution: checking the weight during order picking, on the Jungheinrich order picking trucks. PAKO (pdf).

DHL (P) - Express logistics

DHL Poland was trying to solve a problem in their internal logistics: there was no efficient solution for weighing pallet shipments. Since these “special shipments” could not be accurately invoiced, DHL was missing out on turn over. In the end DHL found the solution: installing scales on the Toyota forklift trucks that move the pallets, in combination with wireless data transfer to their computer system. DHL (pdf).

Once every three months an inventory is made of the perfumes warehouse. Thanks to the weighing forks on the Linde forklift truck, the IBC containers only need to be lifted from the racking to know how much perfume they contain. BRB saves time and space by using twelve pallet truck scales for filling IBC containers, mixing lubricants and filling commercial packaging. And those pallet truck scales also come in handy when doing inventories in the warehouse. BRB (pdf).

ACP Automotive Components (D) - Producer of components for the automotive industry

ACP supplies 500 to 1,000 boxes of components per day to several well known freight truck manufacturers. In order to prevent incomplete deliveries, all components are counted by scales integrated in the STILL stacker trucks that lift and move the boxes. LETO (NL) – Processing of chemical waste

LETO Ecoservice processes hazardous waste materials. Different waste flows are delivered to the site in Almelo in different ways, but all flows need to be weighed and registered: for invoicing, planning and for the hazardous waste registration required by law. Therefore every freight truck has an electric pallet truck with legal-for-trade scale on board and every forklift truck at the Almelo site is equipped with a legal-for-trade scale. Nijsen Granico collects rest materials at food companies, for processing into cattle-fodder. Every Nijsen freight truck carries a hand pallet truck scale. The driver weighs the collected containers in the presence of the client; the client signs for the weight collected and immediately knows what will be invoiced.
